@igb @zero_tea Thanks Ian!
@luis_in_brief @danilo BlueSky's problems aren't an artifact of text-first culture, they're an artifact of a protocol-first approach that refused (and continues to refuse) to implement basic moderation or trust & safety standards.

it’s been a few weeks and a slow roll out to close friends but i said yes to @eshamow

i’m grateful for the healing and joy Eric brought to our lives, and i’m so excited to be engaged to someone this ethical, brilliant, astute, kind, funny, silly, dorky, thoughtful, nuanced, and poetic. i never thought i’d find another techie with an artist’s soul and an activist’s heart, never mind someone who shares the same principles in parenting and loves people with the intensity and softness of an ocean

Eric has made me feel so loved, safe, supported, seen, heard — this is a relationship of co-mentoring and mutual support, it’s such a gift to never run out of things to talk about, i can’t believe we just get to code art music game and movies together all the time ❤️

currently we are still long distance— i imagine that will change soon, we are working on it ☺️ don’t know what the future holds but it’s going to be good

"the pitfalls of perfectionism" LinkedIn post from ex-CTO guy who thought testing and security were "nice to haves" and also told devs they could merge their own code because technically committing and merging were two separate operations

ok bro

@juliepagano Sacred Deer was a tough/cold/isolating watch. I think it had good things to say, but sometimes it felt almost absurdly clinical.

@davidcelis @mckern also I'd note that a lot of the current thread picks up on the themes of Whittaker's run and specifically some revelations around Gallifrey and the Doctor's origin, which RTD is running with, so I definitely recommend checking this stuff out even if half-watching to pick up the plot.

(happy to also suggest some critical episodes if you want to fast forward through the rest)

@davidcelis @mckern Ryan and I will disagree on this but I strongly recommend a Whittaker rewatch, at least of particular episodes. It won't fix how shoddy the plotting, dialogue or direction is, but LOTS of Doctor Who is like this, and with the pressure of it being the current series off, rewatching some of the eps gives me the same joy as Season 17-era Tom Baker - it's nonsense but it's OUR nonsense.

I wish Whittaker got ONE decent story tho.
