Can a tarot card reading be defamatory? Is it libel to say what you observed in the entrails of a sheep? A hard case from the headlines.

I will add that masking/distancing/vaccination is all good, but what we REALLY need is forced PM2.5 air filtration in all public spaces. Schools, hospitals, universities, shops, restaurants, cinemas: on trains, buses, planes, and passenger ships. And ESPECIALLY schools and hospitals. These premises have always been viral disease amplifiers, but filtration stops it spreading at source.

Every morning I load up Mastodon or Tusky and see the newest messages. Then I scroll down and press "load more" 5-20 times to page in all the messages until I see one I remember. Then I slowly scroll back up, reading in time order. It's bad UX.

Every social media feed product is like this (except RSS readers). I want to read everything, in time order. Why is that so hard?

I want to acknowledge that when I said that “I was CEO of a Fortune 500 company” that may have been a slight exaggeration. What I mean to say was that I once ordered a meal at Arby’s.

It's a GPS game. You play by walking around and finding collectable seeds. This game is for middle-aged people, you don't need to catch the seeds, just rack up walking time to get them. Some are common and some are rare.

Then you can set up a garden. You plant your seeds by walking around too. There won't be enough space right by your house to plant them all. And some need to grow in special locations. It takes 4-36 hours to grow fruits, vegetable and flowers.

I feel the need to add: all you've followed to this point may not join you on the journey. That should not stop you from taking it for your own future and potentially theirs. This includes your friends! You can keep them (but make new ones). ~ #socialmedia #news #community #mastodon

Why Would Anyone Use Another Centralized Social Media Service After This?

So, it’s been quite a year for legacy, centralized social media — and all without any really big change to the laws that govern it (yet — the EU’s are coming into force shortly, but pos…
