I hate having to make this kind of post but with everything going on I cannot continue to pretend to myself that everything is fine.

I’m drowning and I need help. I need to be able to get out of my current situation but I’m realizing I cannot do this alone anymore.

Please read my story and even if you can’t donate please consider sharing it. This is not something I do lightly but the situation definitely demands it.

@beni @tschaefer Reading through that just gave me a headache. Not to mention their setup is just straight junk. “you won’t see the original IPv6 address making the connection but one of our gateway IPs” also “don’t block our gateway IPs or you might block legitimate traffic”. Their engineers are “smart” enough to build this complex monster but can’t be bothered to deploy proper IPv6 which is much simpler than doing all this is quite a decision made on their part.

I used to run a T2 resolver for them many years ago. Amazing project with an amazing goal. I only wish it wasn't so hard to get people into it.

and yeah, .fur TLD is cool. @CanidAnubis Yes. Both because it's running an alternative root with custom TLDs and the project has volunteers running T1 and T2 servers. T1s are like the root servers and T2s are mirrors for the public to use.

Great project, I may spin up a resolver again just because.

AWS Deleted all data despite redundancy, backup, dead man’s switch. This is why you need to keep all your data offline. The 3-2-1 backup rule is a good data protection strategy that states that you kee 3 copies of your data, storing them on 2 different types of storage media, and keeping 1 copy offsite under your bed or office. Don't trust your hosting company's backup service.

AWS deleted my 10-year account and all data without warning

After 10 years as an AWS customer and open-source contributor, they deleted my account and all data with zero warning. Here's how AWS's 'verification' process became a digital execution, and why you should never trust cloud providers with your only copy of anything.

In 2025 it’s unacceptable for an email vendor to not accept delivery over both IPv4 and IPv6.

Publicly shaming Amazon on this one. Can’t send you DMARC reports if you don’t accept delivery. IPv4 is broken and they are a huge contributor for why we are out of IPs.

Amazon currently holds over 100 Million public IPv4 addresses with an estimated value of over 2 BILLION dollars just in IP addresses.

i just pulled this macbook air out of my project box and mamma mia i don't want to know what my past self was smoking
