@johntimaeus Good questions! This class isn't set up to do much soil work, but I would bet the folks at Cherry Valley know more - they have been very active in managing the restoration, including prescribed burns in some parts of the property.

We unfortunately missed the first few years of regrowth in this dataset (the golf course closed before I moved to this area), so the project picked up a couple years into succession.

Today in Plant Ecology, some surveys at Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The property is a recovering former golf course - every year, this class surveys the plants in the meadow areas of the property to see what's coming in. Next week - same thing at another recovering former golf course.
