Some feel like Matrix is a better alternative to WhatsApp due to its being decentralized.
X to Mastodon, Instagram to Pixelfed, WhatsApp to Matrix, Facebook to Friendica, YouTube to PeerTube, TikTok to Loops
Here is a revised graphic:
@ironicbadger isn’t all of this very predictable? I also don’t understand why people bought bambulab products in the first place when there are a sea of open source alternatives. Creality sells nearly identical printers that use klipper out of the box. (Not to say creality is without its problems)
This is not the first time something like this has happened in 3D printing. Makerbot and their proprietary printers sucked. Davinci printers have always sucked and used drm filament.
@[email protected] @sylv_a Switch to matrix instead! It is much more feature rich and anyone can host a federated backend! With signal, you must use the primary server hosted in the US and there is no federation capabilities. With matrix, this is not so!
For clients, I like element, but there are quite a few good options. Definitely would recommend matrix over signal any day. Much more aligned with the fediverse and FOSS culture.
