Tonight is the longest night of the year, followed by the shortest day (*edit- for those in the Northern Hemisphere). A happy solstice to all who celebrate!

Do you remember how I decided to #embroider #mosses in a 3-D way?

SLOWLY, I advance.
I found out that the secret lies in quite #natural = irregular #stitches and mixing #colours and #yarns. I'm using mainly #FrenchKnots (twined 1-5x), but also free #stitching where I later cut some of the threads open. Some glossy #yarn between imitates humid #moss.

Cliffs of Moher in #Ireland, taken from a tour boat. The birds nest on the little ledges made by the eroded layers of rock and their poop forms the white layers visible at a distance. The screeching of the birds is quite something to hear. To get an idea of the size, zoom in on the picture and you can see tiny specks on the top of the cliff - tourists looking out over the sea
