@pheonix And even the use in medicine is questionable. AI is not gonna be the solution to the stagnating/decreasing life expectancy in western countries. AI is not gonna solve the lack of access to free healthcare, the rise in air and water pollution and chemicals in our food, and microplastics in our bodies. As usual, we treat the consequences without ever addressing the causes of our problems, creating more problems in the process. The joyous deadly circle of capitalism. Anyway...
@pheonix this is so frustrating, and so many people will still find excuses to justify their useless use of genAI. I know the common excuse is that AI can be a great tool doing some good stuff (in medicine especially) but AI should never have been put into the hands of the large public, it should have stayed into the realm of very niche, actually useful use, with circumscribed models.

I made a little something this past weekend which I am quite proud of.

Finally took the time for some dance creation. I went into the studio without expectations, just wanted to explore some stuff I've had in mind for a while. But then this came out of it. Hope you enjoy it :)

CONTEMPORARY DANCE - Love is Complicated

@penpencilbrush Long live public libraries!!
Mine has access to sound/video recording studios, all sorts of creative softwares, Linda (online courses), Mango language learning, Kanopy, and a gazillions of events, talks, workshops, concerts, film screenings. And all this for free of course. They even got rid of late fees a few years ago. A real community hub serving the people.
If you don't already, use your public library! They're awesome and they need to be used to stay relevant.
@dogtrax this is pretty awesome!

I support this and 100% agree with it!

新年快乐!马年大吉!马上开心!
Happy Year of the Fire Horse!
For the occasion, I made a little "study" on the character 馬, which means horse.
Read here https://art.echoingfrog.ca/year-of-the-fire-horse-triptych for a meaning of the piece.

New poem, inspired by the clear cutting in Stanley Park, Vancouver, and more generally all the destruction happening in the world right now. My way of grieving I guess.

And if you want to see what's happening in the park, I posted a video (it's on Instagram though) : https://www.instagram.com/reel/DUxDw9IDk58/

The Grieving Forest

Inspired by Nature series #4 I can hear you cry Underneath your bark My heart ripped out As they pull your roots In...

@juliancday fair enough. It's indeed crazy expensive here, and I'm so grateful to have been renting an apartment for 13 years and having a rent that is now considered "cheap" compared to current prices. For sure if I had to move out, I'd probably have to move out of Vancouver entirely :(
@juliancday in Vancouver, we do ;)
