@AceArsenault ```data = (score_p1 << 40) | (score_p2 << 32) | (p2y << 24) | (p1y << 16) | (ball_x << 8) | (ball_y) ```
@AceArsenault we were 3 bits short for fitting it into a single int. Ended up using unsigned long but it's definately doable with better packing, since the score goes 0 to 11,but we didn't have enough time. I also added generative fm synthesis and what not, Fun!

#asciiart #ascii #terminal #cli #linux #opensource

A fully functional CLI version of pong to play online. Here is a snippet of a 3D user vs. a CLI user.

Python (chat, client) and C (terminal graphics) using my very own library ft_ascii.

We made it possible to send data using FIFO pipes and using a single unsigned long where we encode all the necessary game data in a single number!
Then we parse this number in C using binary magic!

@olafurw lolcat is an amazing cli tool fyi
@ercanbrack i mean low enough to maybe finger drum, but def not playing an instrument. Let see what you find out!
@ercanbrack interested in this, since in the past I have run Ableton live in wine with many tricks, but couldn't get low latency
