Recent I.T. grad from a polytechnic in western Canada. Big into open source and geeky pursuits. I use Linux (Fedora) as a daily-driver and am comfortable with a command line.

I've also dipped my toes into programming (python, javascript, bash). I prefer hashtags in camel case, 0-based indexes, and hyphens over underscores. I want to learn Golang someday.

Some of my interests:
- the indieweb
- decentralized social-media (the real Web 3.0)
- political philosophy (I took Poli-Sci in school)
- solarpunk (I am into environmentalism)
- selfhosting (e.g. this site/service)

This account is for fun and not for professional communications whatsoever. Opinions expressed here are my own and are subject to change.

I follow back.

So the first two places I interviewed at didn't work out. The third one has given me an Offer of Employment contract to peruse. I'll be officially starting on the 13th. 🤗

As the United States heads toward running out of cash in a few weeks, here's a reminder how this happened:

* The law says what tax rates are, determining revenue.
* Each year laws are enacted that direct money to be spent a certain way.
* Existing debt has to be serviced (e.g. bonds).
* An older law limits national debt.
* Republicans drove up the debt during the Trump Admin (tax cuts, airline bailouts, etc) so that the limit is about to be reached.

The laws are logically incompatible.

“The idea that profits drove our current bout of #inflation surfaced in the last few years among progressive economists and lawmakers but was waved away by more mainstream types as a "conspiracy theory." That changed earlier this year.”

Once a fringe theory, "#greedflation" gets its due

Once a fringe theory, "greedflation" gets its due

A growing number of economists are pointing to corporate profits as an inflation driver.

Since it's that time again, Corsi Rosenthal diy air filter system build around a box fan. 20x25 furnace filters on the sides and end with 25“ square top and bottom and Tyco brand metallized ducting tape seam seals. Pretty cheap, pretty quick build.
Exhausted. Trying to prepare for my second (part 2) interview tomorrow morning but out of steam. I guess sleep is also part of preparation though 😆
Annie here! My favorite site to show new Wikimedia contributors is https://wikishootme.toolforge.org which shows nearby landmarks that need photos. Gonna snap a pic of this park in Brooklyn next time I'm nearby! Created by the incredible @magnusmanske (whose many, many Wikimedia achievements include creating the first article on German Wikipedia)

Don't listen to anyone who says "likes don't matter" on here.

Yes, it's true that there's no algorithm for them to feed.

But letting people you know that you like what they're sharing, that you agree with them, that they're not just shouting into an empty abyss? That matters.

Passwordless Google accounts are easier and more secure than passwords. Here’s why.

The passkey ecosystem is far from complete, but Google's implementation is now ready to use.

Google passkeys are a no-brainer. You’ve turned them on, right?
