On the positive side, if you want to abolish ICE, I can’t think of a more efficient way to make that happen than forcing the business travel class to interact with ICE agents on a regular basis
You're paying AI companies a monthly subscription fee to be fingerprinted like a parolee.
I got bored and ran uBlock across Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini simultaneously.
Claude:
ChatGPT:
Gemini:
When uBlock blocks Gemini's requests, the JS exceptions bubble up and Gemini dutifully tries to POST the error details back to Google. uBlock blocks that too. The error messages contain the internal codenames for every upsell popup that failed to load.
KETCHUP_DISCOVERY_CARD.
MUSTARD_DISCOVERY_CARD.
MAYO_DISCOVERY_CARD.
Google named their subscription upsell popups after condiments and I found out because their error handler snitched on them.
All three of these products cost money.
One of them is also running ad infrastructure.

the thing you must understand now is that regardless of their stated views, liars like Bryan Lunduke, Lennart Poettering, and Dylan M Taylor have demonstrated by their actions that they all have the same goal: a fascist software ecosystem that operates against our interests and exploits but does not empower our labor. it is the destruction of FOSS as we know it.

I see somebody else is on this topic today! And yes, billionaires will use regulatory capture to the maximum extent they can get away with — so yes, I fully expect the AI lobby to advocate a tangled legal regime where LLM output is copyrighted but copying data to train an LLM is not a copyright violation.
Also, and I want to say more on this soon, but if you think that the big AI players are hoping for *anything but* them being able to put a legislative moat around themselves where output *is* copyrighted and training materials *are* restricted but they're the *only ones* able to play, you're being a fool. Their key goal is to capture rent on all intellectual pursuits.
Veatch: “What was really surprising to me during my initial dive into all of this was how, when you look at the question of superintelligence as a documentarian or journalist, it doesn’t take long before you smack your forehead into the low doorframe of race science, because it’s baked into this technology”
I love this metaphor because of how it speaks to the contortions people (here: AI boosters) go through to ignore/pretend not to notice the race science.

The goal is to make corporate data less profitable.
Even stuff as simple as setting your birthdate to 1970-01-01 everywhere, adding [TEST] or [DELETED] as your name or account notes anywhere you don't need them to know your name.
Using plugins like AdNauseam to poison ad trackers (and cost them marketing dollars).
Using VPNs set to different locations.
Signing into data broker sites to "correct" outdated info (they'll often let you do that with little-to-no proof of identity, but will require your passport or state ID in order to delete your info). Bonus points if you correct it to someone else's info on their site that's similar to yours.
Only fill in required fields when you sign up for anything, but only provide correct info if it matters for you to use the service, otherwise provide plausible, but incorrect, data.
If you use LLMs anywhere, use the free tier and always vote thumbs up for bad answers and down for good ones. It wastes their resources and drives up their costs while making their training data worse.
