Apple's code quality continues to be disappointing. I bought a 5K monitor.
* Connected it to the HDMI port and it was detected as 5K.
* Connected via Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter β€” detected as 4K (apparently, Apple's dongle supports a maximum of 4K).
* Connected back via HDMI: detected as 4K.

Now, my Mac thinks it's a 4K monitor. If I connect it to another Mac laptop, it is detected as a 5K monitor. How is this even possible?

This is what I hate about modern Apple. I was just curious to see what their chess app looks like, and instead of giving me the opportunity to look at the board, they throw a Game Center popup at me.

iOS 26 requirement is tough. I'm not yet ready to stare at Liquid Mess

Apple is so desperate to force Liquid Glass on people that they've added a non-dismissable badge to Settings, even for folks who have auto-updates turned off.

@marioguzman To be fair Text on 1x looks like crap for the past decade, and nothing can make it better, except buying 220ppi displays :(
@can @wojtek I've tried that with German/English, but the words that appear at the top are mostly English, so when I need to type in German, I was on my own. Ended up having separate keyboards for both languages.

I think most 5k monitors have too low pixel density for retina scaling. You need 220+ppi to be the same scale/quality as MacbookPro Display. And those are quite rare, beside Apple's own display maybe 3 support same ppi as Apple.

Besides the charging issue, my personal problem with the Apple Watch is that it’s basically an iPhone, but worseβ€”except for workout tracking. It can handle payments, notifications, calendar invites, and mail, but all of it just feels like a demo version of an iPhone.
@marioguzman And when thinking how bad Apple Music is compared to most Apple's Native apps, I realized how deep we have fallen.
@_Davidsmith The small seconds face is great beginning, if you want to really challenge yourself you can try to do something like Patek Philippe 5326 :)
