Is there a way in Ubuntu to install a new version of a program over an older one without needing to go into terminal and use dpkg? The last bit of friction for my buddy using Linux daily is the way that programs not installed through the software center need to be updated.
Double clicking on the .deb of the new version only gives the option to uninstall, instead of upgrade.
