There needs to be more education about this. The risks of sketchy TLDs have been known about in (parts of) infosec in recent years, but no one's bothered to tell the wider audience of website admins.

Nor has ICANN done much to protect everyday users (contrast with rolling out the red carpet to protect people's trademarks)

Though at least in this case per https://akko.erincandescent.net/notice/AeoVF2zhNHj6LrNXto queer.af was expecting and ready for this.
