Exercising brain cells through trial and error. Curiosity for me is a joy to explore.
If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
For every bear that ever there was
Which according to paleontologists
And the sort of people who study these things
Is impossible to calculate mathematically
But can be estimated to at least be
In the hundreds of billions
Maybe even trillions of bears
Trillions and trillions of bears
That's a lot of bears
When we said every bear that ever there was
We really didn't consider
The scientific ramifications
And that's on us really
But anyway today's the day
The teddy bears have their picnic.
Google Maps lets drivers mark “Unplowed Roads.” These warnings are now popping up in Southern California to warn of ICE agents on the loose… because of the “icy” conditions. I love users!
@Robo105 I'd offer that religion tells us what we should and should not do, while the humanities invite us to figure out for ourselves what we should or should not do. No reason they can't work in harmony, though!
@thecityinspeech Science tells us what we can do but the humanities tell us what we should and should not do
Listened to the morning radio:: I think this pardoning ring of the circus sounds like one person is reading the Enquirer to puff out his pardon list. Well, and along with his Facebook friends of friends list. SMH
Their priorities couldn't be clearer.
@kathimmel we have kale and chard and lemon balm and nastutiums self seeding all around our garden raised beds and flats -- one of my kids forages and keeps up an all sorts of plants, so when I doubt my apps, I check with them. best.
@kathimmel I pointed my "picture this" plant id app at your photo - and it said spinach - but indicated by the white and yellow spots there may be some pest problem disease; cured by washing with soapy water. It looks healthy to eat to me. did you touch it an was there any skin reaction? spinach won't do that, but I understand L&L will.
In honor of trans day of visibility, I'm posting this pride flag that was created by NASA, but recently deleted from their website: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/14627.
NASA Scientific Visualization Studio | NASA Has Pride Across the Universe

The Progress Pride flag, based on the original rainbow pride flag by Gilbert Baker, was created in 2018 by Daniel Quasar to celebrate diversity within the queer community and the need for continued progress toward inclusion and acceptance in society. In this version, each color band is made up of images from across NASA. Planetary science, Earth science, heliophysics, and astrophysics are all represented. Below is the collection of the original images. ||

What musicians did after an executive order on DEI led to the cancellation of U.S. Marine Band collaboration

"...I just felt like, well, there's usually two responses to something. You can complain about it, or you could do something about it. I chose the latter within seconds. And it was the easiest decision ever.....
With the active-duty Marines ordered to stand down, Equity Arc reached out to retirees who answered the call from everywhere, former band members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Westpoint, the Naval Academy and the Marines....The original Marine Band concert would have been seen by hundreds. Here, tonight, these musicians are being heard by millions...."
