Good afternoon, I would like to inform you that, for personal reasons, I have submitted my resignation from my moderation position here at the mastodon instance, effective today.
I have been on a sabbatical for a period since late June from my work here at Qoto, but trust that my contribution has helped make it a better place.
I also use various other accounts and some of you might have seen posts originating from them, or blog announcements with my signature indicating my Publishing account at @rgx .
That has been my main account since late June, 2020 – as I felt I needed a smaller instance that allowed more time to focus and concentrate on Writing, which is currently my main personal interest and expression.
Since mastodon currently does not offer user data portability, my 7,200 posts at this instance will remain. And I might login occasionally, to check for personal messages or retrieve past posts. Anyone wishing to contact me can do so at the address referred above, which is likely to receive prompter attention.

I am having some trouble with finding a post I jsut made a couple hours earlier, from my muesnterland.social account.
Search does not retrieve results using the Toot link from the context menu in the post : https://muensterland.social/@rgx/105267233650139725
I got results in some Pleroma instances, not in the Mastodon ones. And now here in mastodon.social, I had this error message, error 500, which I hadn't seen before.
Searching for the user account there, @[email protected] , I was able to find its profile...

This has been posted and recognized as a valuable resource at Reddit for maybe almost two months now.
After sitting in my Blog editor for almost 30 days, I decided to publish it -- in Two pages, with a final Part 3 coming soon dealing with the loaded question of "Adding friends via Slowly IDs".

I just saw your reply to a comment in mastodon/Pleroma messages, and was glad to see you got it installed and running.
And it’s even a new type of Forum, I have used Discourse quite a bit recently but not seen Discuss. Looks good and has the essentials for me, that are so sadly missing in Mastodon in most cases:
My first impressions are good — as I write this, I find the interface light and responsive, easier to use than Discourse which uses the two pane, side by side mode by default.
A Forum with all these features you described is basically as good as a Blog page for rich content posting. And CAN be used as a Draft building area for posts, later easily copied and pasted into the blog host.
I do use the Discourse forum like that sometimes, and a well crafted post can be directly imported into my Write.Freely blogs.
Forums add the Commenting that WF doesn’t have at this time (intentional, as they prefer to keep all ‘social distractions’ out of it).
Will be telling friends and posting about this.
