Tariffs and bans are policies of fear. They happen when we are scared that another country’s innovation has surpassed our own.

The best response to competition? Investing in your own science, technology, and education. That’s true courage.

@GottaLaff Yes, Trudeau Liberal government did a terrible job of explaining Carbon Pricing and Carbon Rebates, and media helped Poilievre by just repeating his "Carbon Tax" label. Now, Carney has taken away Pierre's slogan, & I believe Carney will bring in other carbon reduction policies. Right now, we need him concentrated on tRump's nonsense. Mark Carney has always supported strong climate change policy.
He strongly believes in steering away from fossil fuels & uses science to base it on.

@daviddlevine Thanks, this is fabulous!

> ... in Czechoslovakia, six days after the Soviet invasion in 1968, the newspaper [Večerní Praha] published “10 commandments,” writing: “When a Soviet soldier comes to you, YOU: 1. Don’t know 2. Don’t care 3. Don’t tell 4. Don’t have 5. Don’t know how to 6. Don’t give 7. Can’t do 8. Don’t sell 9. Don’t show 10. Do nothing.”

There's more happening in the area of public protest and noncooperation than you might know. Noncooperation (don't buy, don't help, don't know) can be a quiet but effective form of protest. https://wagingnonviolence.org/2025/03/resistance-alive-well-us/
Resistance is alive and well in the United States

Protests of Trump may not look like the mass marches in 2017, but they're far more numerous and frequent — and also becoming more strategic.

Waging Nonviolence

I really like this definition of noncooperation;

1) DON'T BUY is the boycott part; stick to the essentials, buy them locally where possible. Vote with your wallet, adjust your spending patterns.

2) DON’T HELP is refusing to collaborate, or, if it cannot be avoided, being slow and reactive. Insist on procedure, flag minor mistakes, stick to your contracted hours, postpone until next week, etc.

3) DON'T KNOW is not volunteering any information. You did not see. You don't recall. Zip your lip, don't gossip, regardless of whether it's law enforcement, or Chatty Cathy down the street.

The Wandering Shop

This is actually funny!

Weren't tariffs going to create American jobs?

So Canada says because of the idiocy, it will cancel the F35 order and will source new jets from Europe instead. And .... Lockheed Martin says, wait, we'll create Canadian jobs!

Just going to tag this #inflation or more specifically #corporategreed

Read it and weep, folks.

And you see these exact disinformation efforts spread on this very platform.

Everyone who helps it is falling for a scheme designed by, enriching, and empowering the exact billionaires they say they want to stop.

Inside the Republican false-flag effort to turn off Kamala Harris voters:
“A multipronged dark money effort by advisers to Elon Musk targeted liberals, Jews, Muslims and Black voters with ads that were not quite what they seemed.”

The Washington Post

He doesn’t give a shit about low income people or middle class people. He only cares about billionaires, and even then only the ones willing to suck up to him. My God who hasn’t figured that out by now.

They think the price of gas and eggs was high before? Now they won’t have health insurance or Social Security to even pay for eggs and gas, neither of which will be cheaper.
