@paul I think the biggest part of my point was the fact that it was released years after the original lineup.
I do see your point, but I’d have more problems with the naming if the entire lineup was in production and being marketed as their primary platform, rather than these oddball releases that they are using to clear out old chips.
@paul the answer is binning. The 5900XT was released years after the rest of the lineup you listed as a way to get rid of 5950x chips that were slightly under spec.
Props to AMD for keeping an AM4 alive with good chip releases years later. I upgraded my AM4 3600 system to a 5800X3D a couple of years ago and it will likely be good enough until the end of AM5.
@siracusa last winter my mom complained that the TV wasn’t turning on anymore. After investigating I discovered that she had completely blocked the IR receiver with a tiny Christmas tree. 🤦♂️
Needless to say, she also has a habit of blocking the screen with decorations from different seasons.
