@FirstProgenitor its such a thing because if you're not directly talking to someone, most "social media" kinda defaults to a mode of "personal broadcast/self-talk media" where you just kinda throw whatever you think/feel/want to say out into the void with moderate-to-low expectations that anybody is going to notice or respond.

i wonder if that's also part of the reason social media can make people feel lonelier than if they're just offline.
