tips for building your network in the #fediverse:

1. your bio is important! sometimes your old posts won't load if your profile/instance has never been discovered by the viewer's instance. however, your bio will usually load above all things. so let your visitors learn about you through your bio!

2.
#hashtags are your friends. the fediverse does not have an algorithm. the only way your posts show up on someone else's feed is if someone boosts you, follows you, finds your post on the global feed, or discovers it through a hashtag. hashtags are the best way to be discovered by other users

3. use hashtags to find others with similar interests! most of the people i'm mutuals have something in common with me. whether it's
#softwaredevelopment, #gaming, #anime, #gunpla, etc. you get the idea

4. interact with others! this one sounds simple, but this one is extra important in the fediverse compared to the other social networks. every time you interact with someone else, you allow your profile to be discovered by them and the people on their instance. in a way you're not only helping yourself but you're actually helping the entire network make connections!
