No Kings

On June 14—Flag Day—Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else.

Last week I paid a visit to Andy Goldsworthy's Prairie Cairn. I was on a botanical tour of the prairie area, and I think I was the only one who stopped and looked at the art. #AndyGoldsworthy #Prairie #Sculpture

My 15-year-old Abraham Darby rose died back to the ground winter before last, and this year came back as the rootstock Dr. Huey rose.

My dilemma is that digging out a rose that's been in the ground that long will be an undertaking that will destroy that section of the flowerbed. And, even though Dr. Huey blooms only once a year, its blooms have been spectacular this spring, being the perfect color for the spot.

Missouri just passed a ban on selling Callery Pears and other invasive plants

The Missouri legislature approved a law that would ban the sale of multiple invasive plants, including burning bush and Callery pear. The species choke out native plants and cause issues for ecosystems and landowners.
