By situating race at the core of migration studies, this special issue marks a paradigm shift in how migration and diversity are studied in Spain. For the first time, race is no longer treated as a taboo or secondary category — it becomes an analytical lens through which class, gender, and migration status are understood as interlocking systems of inequality.
