Well, this brought back a bunch of memories from my youth, when it felt perfectly natural that what you should want from a computer is the ability to design your own calculator interface.

Medical update: PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrom) has now rebranded as PMOS (p-channel metal oxide semiconductor) for broader silicon foundry support.

A hormonal condition affecting 1 in 8 women around the world just got a new name in hopes of improving care. It’s now called polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome instead of polycystic ovary syndrome. The name change was made after 14 years of collaboration between experts and patients. Researchers published the change in The Lancet on Tuesday. Supporters of the change said the old name, often shortened to PCOS, is inaccurate. It reduced a complex hormonal or endocrine disorder to a misunderstanding about cysts and a focus on ovaries, they said, contributing to missed diagnoses and inadequate treatment.

I now see that extends to the British too.
