Went to Lone Star Fur Con last weekend and got a new collar :) My old one from ~30 years ago doesn't fit anymore, and its style isn't really what I want for a collar these days. The new collar's from The Yogurt Kingdom, who was one of the vendors in the dealer's den. I like how the it's made of a thinner piece of leather that's folded over to make two layers with a rounded edge, rather than a thick piece that's just cut, with a square edge. And the jingly kitty bell is nice too :3

P.S. You can check out some of the pics I took at the con on FurTrack

Gotta collect them all! I got my Taiwanese passport today, but I'm a "national without household registration." I'm going to Taiwan in April to get registered, and I'll stop by Tokyo for a bit too.

I managed to put a #Meshtastic node on the highest part of my roof. Wasn't a lot of fun getting it up there though; my roof pitch is about 7/12 (i.e., 30°), which apparently is generally considered the steepest pitch that's walkable without extra equipment. I went up one of the hips though, so it wasn't as steep. Still kinda nerve-wracking though :) I'm fine with heights, but not with falling. While I never actually slipped, it felt like I could.

So I definitely wasn't comfortable climbing up on just two feet; to keep my hands free, I lashed the mount and node to a backpack and made my way up on all four paws (BTW, there's a company named Cougar Paws that make grippy-soled boots for roofers :) Then made another trip up with the paving stones used to weight the mount down.

Anyways, pretty decent view/line-of-sight from up there.

Made it to Toronto with no problems :) Got a nice shot of downtown from the plane.
@bplein loaned me a Femtofox   #Meshtastic node to put in my attic, replacing the RAK4631 that had been there. The Femtofox has 1W of transmit power, vs. the ~150mW of the RAK, so maybe I'll get better reach. Thanks, Bill!

LOL, I've had the IPP port forwarded to my printer for a decade because I wanted someone to try to print to it, but never got anything. But just two days after replacing the printer, I got this

I guess whatever scanning tool was used couldn't spot the old printer (a Xerox Phaser). I do remember that the Xerox didn't return anything useful on http://printer:631 (I think it was an error of some sort, but it might've just been a blank page), while the new one (a Brother) shows the same printer status that's shown on ports 80/443.

(FYI, the uncropped pic on e621 is NSFW)

There were about 7 or 8 of us at #TFF with radios, and we seemed to have a pretty good hotel-area mesh going :) It didn't seem like we reached outside the hotel though; there doesn't seem to be much coverage in downtown Dallas. I did hear from a non-hotel node when I went up to the 38th floor though.

Tried to set up a meetup, and there was interest, but nobody actually showed up :( As a cat myself, I know how hard herding furries can be. Oh well :)

It's hard to see in the pic, but I had a #Mesthastic button that I got at a local meetup on my lanyard.

Neat, I learned from a Youtube video that there's a company named SwissMicros that makes modern replicas of HP's classic calculators, such as the HP-15C.

I still have my HP-11C that my dad bought for me when I started university, about 40 years ago. It still works, although I don't actually use it these days. I wouldn't have a use for the SwissMicros replicas either, but I think it's really cool that they're making them.

After years of putting my Ethernet switch and other network equipment on the floor leaning against the wall, I decided to get an actual rack to put everything in. It's so much more convenient now :)
