"A transparent police force? In Toronto that’s fantasy, not reality.

If the police were not upfront about a simple pedestrian collision caught on video, why should we believe them about anything else?"

No joke I think you could make a fortune running summer camps for adults. I'd happily lie in a sleeping bag on the top bunk listening to rain pittering on the roof while we wonder which of the counselors are in loooove. Also, archery
This petition to get the Government of Canada to establish a Mastodon presence is going up VERY SLOWLY - only 16 new signatories in like the last three hours. Don't assume everyone else is going to sign it, it needs YOUR signature if you're Canadian so the Government of Canada's messaging online isn't dependent on proprietary, walled commercial platforms like Twitter. Please sign if you have a minute! https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-4769 #CDNPoli #ONPoli #Toronto

One of the things I enjoy about being on Mastodon is having zero idea what most of you are talking about.
Another #CBC story about the lack of ice on Lake Erie this winter, with an interview of Mike McKay, Dir. of U Windsor's Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research. He points out that ice is important not only for local coastal impacts (erosion, snowfall) but also the ecology of the lake (fish spawning, food webs). The story might be using one of our zooplankton photos from winter sampling, but I've posted so many I can't remember 🙂.

There was no ice on Lake Erie on January 1st | CBC News

It's a new year and Lake Erie is showing little signs of freezing. Local experts weigh in on how mild temperatures this winter might mean that the lake's ecosystem may be affected.

We interrupt the countdown of sunsets from previous days to let you know that today's sunset was pretty nice, too.

@jhuenne I was an avid lurker on that platform, with a well curated list of followers. I’m mostly a lurker here too. Takes time but I’ve discovered different voices here and the diversity grows week by week. I love finding new hashtags to follow. Gradually and then suddenly?
