OTD 1981: Silicon Graphics is incorporated. 2 years later, the IRIS 1000 shipped with the "Geometry Engine".

TIL the IRIS networking first used XNS (Xerox) protocols, not TCP/IP. Fixed in a later release :-)

@ann3nova It's definitely one I rewatch from time to time. I would caution anyone going into it that you will enjoy it more when you remember it's a fictional series and not a documentary or accurate retelling of events.

@jacqueline I've owned a number of manual vehicles however my current ones are both automatics. It's growing increasingly difficult to find cars with manual transmissions unfortunately.
