Security Engineer generalist at an ecomm company who enjoys all things food and drink (from cooking to trying), video games, sci-fi, technology, and learning. Perpetually struggling to keep up with my entertainment backlog!
I'm seeing this is also a Google Meet limitation which is hilarious. Seeing how it took until 2026 to deploy an AA Meet app, maybe they'll realize how shitty this is and roll out a fix in the next major Android build a year later. Oh Google.

Anyone know the resolution to this issue? I have a work profile set up on my Android phone with Teams, Outlook, etc. However, this sandboxes them away from Android Auto, except if I enable a certain flag to access notifications from the Work profile. BUT!

It is a severely limited view of Teams; just my notifications and that's it. No calendar to join and I suspect it doesn't even let me control a meeting call if I join. Kind of a big freaking deal.

My only guess is I need to install Teams also on my Personal profile, which kind of defeats the purpose of the work profile....

The sentiment that cardinals are the spirits of lost loved ones visiting you is nice, but feels pretty silly when you're observant of birds and they're just a common sight by you lol
And this ease of use means waaaay more people are going to get comfortable developing programmatic solutions. If this stuff is going to start becoming essential to the operation of your organization, it's going to become even more important to enforce proper SDLC habits, especially with people who that is a completely foreign concept.

So I had my first experience "vibe coding" today; my boss has an Excel sheet report that needs to be matched and updated week to week, and it was a manual job. I figured I'd just see how far this vibe coding stuff could automate it by writing a Python script. To my surprise it was pretty capable. Yes, it did some stupid stuff like hard coding and simple errors, but simply telling it the output is enough for it to fix things.

Did it take probably a good 30 min to an hour to build? Yes. But at no point did I need to rely on my programming knowledge and most of it was waiting for it to return. Plus my boss had some feature creep since it was going well.

I can definitely see why people are worried about where this is going, because it's definitely getting to a "good enough" place for simple engineering tasks.

Boulder: WHEEEEEEE!
Sisyphus: "ugh I'm never getting this to the top :("
Boulder: "hehe you're never getting me to the top :)"
If something starts to feel Sisyphusian, sometimes you gotta just reframe yourself as the boulder
Anyone else the designated "why the hell is document formatting such a mess? Guess I'm gonna have to fix this because no one else will..." person?

This weather calls for some iced tea.
