Ugh, Twitter is getting Musked again and BlueSky is down so it’s back to Mastodon again. Which needs to get over itself and allow quote retweeting.

Clown car hearings exploit a weakness in mainstream journalism's source code, which gives no clear instructions for how to report truthfully on events that are themselves false, meaning they spring from a propagandistic intent and taking them seriously only furthers the scam.

And yet: They can't be ignored because they show what the Republican party does with its power.

Driving the 9 year old home from school today and listening to the radio…

9YO: “Dad, they made really good music in the ‘80s.”

Me: “yeah, but a lot of people who lived through it thought the music from the ‘70s and ‘90s was better.”

9YO: “No, the ‘80s was the best. Can you turn it up? This is my favorite Guns N Roses song.”

Twitter’s new policy: never tweet
So I guess I really have to use Mastodon now
If I was Elon and saw the responses to the #SOTU and the R joke hearing about Hunter Biden's laptop, I probably would have gotten mad and turned it off too.
But what if I need to move a couch?

I was born in 1980, and for my entire adult life the tech industry in general and "founders" in particular have been celebrated as wizards whose genius and dedication have brought about countless wonders, with endless more wonders yet to come.

The last few years has shown this to be utterly false. Most tech companies turned out to be one trick ponies, only capable of creating one or two great products from scratch with that product often based on publicly funded research.

We’re probably going to need to hold a mass protest in Olympia in the next few weeks to avoid huge cuts to public education. Democratic legislators do not give a fuck about our schools or kids and they won’t change unless we shake things up.
