@DemonHusky @crschmidt.net And the biggest thing that keeps me from making bigger mistakes is diligent record-keeping: I carefully track each bet, double checking the records for "what did I think I did" against the actual sportsbook records, and figuring out if I fat-fingered something before I lose $200 on it.
I don't expect the average person to do that :)
@DemonHusky @crschmidt.net I did make a pretty huge mistake at on point -- I attempted to take advantage of what looked like a really good bet, and it turned out that the software I was using had made a mistake, so I had $2000 in unhedged bets. I was able to turn that $2k of risk into just $100 of loss, but it took several hours of work and (in the end) a little bit of luck, otherwise it would have been -$300.
On average, I make mistakes costing $20-$40/day.
it still makes me sad that twitter is a bad place now. it used to be a good place, and the world would be better overall if it was still a good place.
Merry Melancholy Christmas, I guess.
@NNN @mclean.bsky.social I own a dozen different kinds of batteries. Every single one of them will (correctly) refuse to charge when the battery is too cold. Most of them will automatically start charging once it's warm enough, though some cheaper ones require you to unplug the battery and plug it back in to start charging.
Basically, any BMS on any bike I've bought in the past 3 years does exactly what you say here.
