I'm like an IT person or something.
happy spacex blew up their entire texas launch facility day for those who celebrate
there's a dad walking around campus getting his small kids to put up Linux Mint propaganda ???

Just put #pop_os back on my home file server after some random update broke the samba shares on Linux Mint.

Like broke Samba and I couldn't fix it or figure out what happened in a timely manner when I had a trpg to run.
Made due with a thumb drive to get the files I needed moved back and forth so we could do the trpg session on Saturday. By EOD Sunday the machine was back on Pop and all resources restored.

Pop stable might be a bit behind due to the #COSMIC DE environment work, but at least it's stable.

Why was I messing with Mint if I had Pop on there previously and it was working fine? Was running Mint on it so spouse could get used to it before moving his gaming machine to Mint from Windows ahead of October 2025. However due to the issues, I'm more likely to move him to Pop and just be patient until COSMIC DE is at a stable point for any new kernel features I'd like.

Realized that by having both my phone numbers on one phone, I can only send RCS messages on one of those numbers because of what phone number is set as the one used primarily for data. :\
So probably looking at a 2nd phone to move one of my numbers to because encryption is important.

If you're in Saint Louis, Missouri and looking for a Lvl 1 IT helpdesk job that is part remote, part onsite, the place I work is hiring 2 people.

Workplace is LGBTQ+ friendly, health insurance (covers HRT quite a bit among other things) and 401k benefits, further IT education opportunities and room to move up the ladder into what you fit with or want to pursue.
They reimburse cert exam fees also if you pass, and each new cert is a pay increase on top of other regular performance pay increases.

Relevant IT experience or 1 or 2 certs is preferred to start, but not necessary if a quick learner. I started with the Google IT cert course and years of personal dabbling along with being the family IT help. I started on Helpdesk 1 and after <2 years have moved up quite a bit.

Will post again when upper management has the actual listing up. If interested now I can put in contact with someone in hiring probably.

Found a few Cisco Meraki MA-ANT-3-D6 wifi antennas but have no idea when it comes to Cisco stuff how to potentially utilize these.

What kind of controller system goes with these?

Does anyone around here know what mechanism allows those fullscreen fake virus ads to work in web browsers?
You'd think that web browsers would have a mechanism that prevents a site from automatically going fullscreen, and even if they do I wonder if it's a click through or something that's bypassing it.
This feels like a problem from 1990s web browsing that hasn't been solved yet and the only solution I know of right now is installing an adblocker so users aren't accidentally clicking malicious ads.
