It’s kind of funny how people react to #ai related news with claims like „I‘d never support any company using ai for their #software“. Most companies have no idea how much ai is used by the individual devs.

Every sane person knows that accidentally bombing civilians is a war crime. War never changes. War is a crime. Those who start wars commit crimes, those who refuse to end them commit crimes. Unfortunately there is no judge.

LLMs-gone-rogue dominated coverage, but had nothing to do with the targeting. Instead, it was choices made by human beings, over many years, that gave us this atrocity

„So I find myself wondering: if they're so convinced that AI is better than senior professionals, why don't they replace the bosses with AI?“

Giving an AI access to human „agents“. Interesting thought, but I think AI would be very unhappy with the humans. They only work 8h a day, need breaks and go on vacation. Soon it would fire everyone and replace them with AI agents 😄

Three episodes, one week. AI bots that hallucinate VPN requirements, recommend Apache configs on nginx servers, and suggest replacing 128 GB of RAM with a cloud VPS. A field note on the cost of mistaking confidence for competence.

How AI companies sell it: "productivity improvement at an unprecedented scale"

What developers actually get: "an initial notable productivity boost that regresses quickly"

I use #Claude. I like it and I have a pro subscription for a while now. #ai is a great tool, especially to find information when you don’t really know what you are searching for.

But I am not concerned about my job. I don’t let the AI write code for me nor do I think that it ever will be able to. That’s a fantasy fed to us by the ai industry.

Yes, there have been crazy leaps in #llm capability, but there is a limit and the limit will be hit sooner or later. I think it will be rather soon.

A pitch deck is a lossy compression of reality tuned for maximum appeal. A pitch .md in a GitHub repo is version-controlled, forkable, and transparent.

You can see the entire history of how the founders described their own company.

That's a better signal than gradient fills.

The pitch deck is dead. Write a pitch.md instead.

Every week, thousands of founders open Canva or Google Slides or, God help them, PowerPoint, and begin the ritual. They agonize over fonts. They nudge logos three pixels to the left. They workshop whether the TAM slide should come before or after the team slide, as though the ordering of

Don‘t forget that humans are particularly bad at foreseeing the future. Ages ago in school I was told to paint the future and I was certain that we had flying cars by now. Later, about ten years ago, I was absolutely sure that all road vehicles would be self-driving in 10 years. And that this was the end for truck and taxi drivers. I was very wrong 😄
We’ll probably still write a lot of code in 10 years.

Hat sich herausgestellt dass nicht mal Mm Mitarbeiter wissen warum es storniert wurde. Wahrscheinlich ein Fehler im Bezahlsystem. Schade, dass es nicht mal einen Error Report gibt…

I‘ve used Claude and other AI tools a lot in the past. It’s a great tool for debugging, planning, prototyping and learning.

But I still write all production (and most of the personal projects) code myself.

The problem is that using ai to write your code makes you dumber. It’s shallow work.

We should be weary about those AI articles and must assume most of them are sponsored by ai companies, given the amount of money being thrown around.
