code is read many times more than it is written. so write it like a story or a book. https://twitter.com/samantha_ming/status/1048651137572790272

“Reading code is tough, so don’t make it more complicated with names that others have to guess. Often, it’s better to spell out the entirety of the word so everyone can understand 👍 What pitfalls do you avoid when naming variables? #100DaysOfCode #CodeNewbie #301DaysOfCode”

@dedken Seriously, it needed to be written. Thank you.

One of the worst things depression can do is convince you that you don't need therapy.

It preys on your self esteem and tells you that you're hopeless.
It convinces you that no one can understand.
It tells you that people will judge you.
It makes you believe that it's too difficult.
It won't work.

All of these things are lies depression tells us because it wants us to stay in that state. It doesn't want us to face our issues.

Therapy works. Don't give in to the lie.

@fduncan dang, dems some gophers!
Who's up for a cappella karaoke night?

@secondary_world You need new friends. Better friends. 😆

The script looks good. Could be a swell graphic novel. too. Makes me wish I had a connection.

Happy birthday, everybody

When bad weathermen die they go to a hellscape that is 20˚C with a high overcast and no breeze. No sunrise or sunset either. Unchanging weather 24/7/forever.

Then they have to give a weather report to the Devil at 5 PM. They have to make it interesting, but they can't lie.

if I'm ever invited back to my alma mater's CS program to talk, I'm going to encourage them to learn as many tools and paradigms as possible, not for marketability reasons but because it expands your shit-talking horizons
