okay, I've managed to construct a way to display a feed of posts from an akkoma instance on my website

on second thought, I dunno lol

can't find account id anywhere, and can't figure out what the rss feed url is of an account

need both of these to keep my fediverse comments and fediverse feed working on my website and akkoma looks like it has no functionality for either of these things

Since I've setup an account at labyrinth.zone already, I'm thinking I'll move there

Just need to test and make sure I can still do my "fediverse comments" on my website, and so far it looks like it works? but I can't find my account ID via an Akkoma instance

huh, it looks like fediverse comments on the website can work via other activitypub software, and not just mastodon

Anyway, today I should decide what I want to do fediverse-wise. I enjoy running my own instance, and I've been doing so because I find it hard to trust random moderators/admins on other instances (in that, how do I know they won't take personal issue with something I post and then nuke my entire account, as has happened numerous times now)

But also, I don't think I should be spending nearly 70 dollars a month just to post stuff online. I think I should focus on maintaining my website, and have fedi not be a thing that costs me a ton of money 😂

@Foxy Comparing buying houses to putting up a website for free is the biggest false equivalency I've ever read, like "only rich people can do this?" what?

are both of you living in upside-down world right now?

gotta click through 5 different links just to get to the page that explains how to deploy/install iocaine
@erkhyan Do you just live and breathe false equivalencies?
Wake up, log on, still got a headache, see someone comparing being upper-middleclass and being able to afford a home, to ... building a website with basic html on a free service

@erkhyan Comparing signing up for a free website on Neocities to spending 200,000 USD on a home

in the least, this is an uneducated take, and at worst it's hugely manipulative
