Work-life balance is much more difficult to maintain if you can be interrupted and distracted 24/7 by work communications on the same phone you use for personal communications, entertainment, etc. And if an employer knows they can get you to do stuff "off the clock," they can and will take advantage of you.

#Smartphone #privacy and #security in general is pretty terrible and you should assume personal information can be tracked by company apps and company information can be tracked by personal apps. All that information is collected, hacked, bought, and sold all the time. For example, my personal cell phone number has somehow been associated with my #LinkedIn profile in some sales database somewhere despite never sharing this with LinkedIn myself. As a result I get business sales calls regularly as if it's my #work number.
