I love words, patterns, London, being #queer. I'm curious about almost everything. I like human beings, in general. I adore my husband.

Anyway, it’s taken me 42 years to realise I’m #trans, do you really trust me to tell you who I am?

I’m still trying to figure it out, honestly.

Censorship bills…

Honestly, I think the moment when I realized Russia is going to shit is when I started to see more and more focus on censorship.

It started with the fucking "Protect the children!" stuff. But slowly it started shifting. Drug censorship! But somehow that ended up encompassing Wikipedia just for the mention of the stuff. Suicide propaganda censorship! Which ended up making resources talking about it in healthy terms get whacked.

And then it started to expand more, including stuff that goes "against traditional family values", LGBT, such and so.

And then the last of the masks went off and it was directly used as a propaganda tool.

So, for me, whenever some place screams about "protect the children" censorship… I just can’t help but think of how Russia went from that, to Crimea in 2014, to the complete masks off in 2022.

They don’t care about children. They just want a convenient excuse for introducing an ability to block things. And then, they will expand it. Throw out all the checks. Court ruling required for a ban? Not anymore. And on it will go until the entire media landscape is controlled.

Tick, tick, tick.

You have until 11.59pm tonight to register to vote. Don’t run down the clock. Do it now.

Okay, UK folks, it's on. Few of the choices are great, but the Tories have to go. Make sure you're registered to vote. Set up a postal vote if you'll be on holiday on July 4th. Make sure students are registered in the place where they'll be then, as uni terms will be over. Make sure you've got suitable ID. Especially make sure to do all of this if you are in a marginal constituency, cos that's where the election is decided. #UKPolitics #GE2024

These are the key dates in the General Election process.

Firstly, Parliament must be dissolved by May 30th. That means we’ve got a week of rushed completion of bad laws and abandonment of other pet projects.

Second up, candidates need to be chosen and their nomination papers submitted. Some sitting MPs haven’t yet announced that they don’t intend to stand again, though Rory Stewart reveals he’s spoken to several Tories who won’t. So we don’t even know just how headbanging the Tories will be.

Albert Einstein’s first wife Mileva (Mitza) Marić was also a brilliant physicist. They met at the Polytechnic Institute of Zurich, where she had fought for special permissions to attend and where she received higher marks than Albert. Mitza put in as much if not more work on their theories but wasn’t credited because Albert told her their works wouldn’t get published with a woman’s name on them. Many of his lecture notes are in Mitza’s handwriting, and Albert was once heard at a party saying, “I need my wife, she helps solve all of my mathematical problems.” 80% of Einstein’s famous works were published during this marriage, referred to as his “magic years.” Those magic years ended abruptly after they divorced due to his infidelity and abandonment.

Happy #womenshistorymonth

Good morning, nerds! The British Library just dropped its after-incident report on the ransomware attack that has disabled the Library for, uh, months?

Let's dig in.

I started out reading a fantasy novel.  A simple police procedural in a city far away, that straddles an old slow river. But no, it was about ethics.  It was about knowing the difference between...
