The Senate vote to end the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration comes at a time when:

- Thousands are still dying each week
- Pediatric hospitals are full
- Millions are out of work due to #LongCovid
- Many including high risk ppl can't access healthcare due to high COVID transmission

This is wrong!

It also tells us something about how black users "unfold" and the points from which the space "unfolds" as a space.

To be clear, the treatment of Black users on mastodon, as indicated by the recurring cycle of discourse around CWs, quote tweets, and the policing of other ways that Black users make present their experience and identities, makes clear that the point from which mastodon unfolds is whiteness.

With the GOP projected to win the House thanks to gerrymandering, it’s worth revisiting my report from August 2021.

Dems missed a critical window to ban gerrymandering, and they’re paying for it.

Roe v. Wade likely will not be codified now.

Dems had until August 2021 — that’s when the Census Bureau delivered its data to the states and the map-drawing began. They focused instead on infrastructure. Then, they took August recess.
