I've been thinking quite a bit recently about how the current state of the United States compares to other times in our history, and I came across this quote from a politician in the lead up to the Civil War discussing the virtues of black people and how they're fundamentally

Good news: ChatGPT is pointing a lot of people toward Soundslice.
Bad news: It's telling people Soundslice has a feature that doesn't actually exist.
Here's my story about how we added a feature purely because ChatGPT was telling people it existed.
@krzyzanowskim I recently experienced it having a really bad day where it ended up frustrating itself. In a single comment it went back and forth like this 14-ish times, never landing on a real answer.
One of the titles for an answer was, "✅✅✅ FOR REAL:"
If it wasn't so hilarious I might've been annoyed.
@douginamug @davatron5000 — I was going to suggest this exact same series. I felt like, as a Gen-X American who grew up in a flurry of Hollywood Cold War military movies, this was INCREDIBLY revealing. I watched the entire series, all 7 hours.
"Revealing", as in, it revealed just how little I knew about what went on in Russia during this era. It put a lot of the stories that we're told growing up in this era in the US in a different light.
