New! Heckle is a brush script typeface for display use. It started as a tiny sketch for a t-shirt design in 2005, based on my memories of script lettering from the '40s and '50s.

Anybody need a writer or editor with:
- 8+ years of technical writer/content strategist experience, mostly in software
- One published short fiction anthology (as editor)
- A master's degree in sociolinguistics
- A knack for learning new content management systems
- A love of working with invested SMEs
- A basic understanding of web dev
- Strong boundaries
- An aversion to generative AI?

Prioritizing remote work in Canada.

The chronicles of a webmaster: a stream of consciousness on technology, creativity, and a random series of events

Just added ~20ppl to [REDACTED SECRET SOCIAL CLUB]. Some folks emailed me in 2024. Oof. I bear much shame.

A man used LLMs to generate hundreds of thousands of "songs", then used bots to stream them billions of times, to collect $8m in royalties. https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/north-carolina-man-pleads-guilty-music-streaming-fraud-aided-artificial-intelligence-0 Is there a better metaphor for late-stage capitalism than burning resources to make songs that are never listened to, then steaming them to robots that will never hear them, ad infinitum?

This isn't your normal "looking for work" post.

I've decided to shut my business and do more volunteer / community work.

If you know of an organisation which could use a board member with strong digital skills, extensive experience in open source and open standards, or cybersecurity please let me know.

Nothing full time. Personal recommendations preferred. Feel free to share.
