Hi.

I'm a professional computer geek in the Bay Area. I've been a sysadmin, designed and built networks, been a penetration tester, done security research, and incident response. I'm flexible enough to work as in aerospace engineering as well as computational pharmacology.

I'm still #unemployed.

I'm searching for a job, on-site or remote. If you're hiring, please DM me, or at least send me a link or two? Please?

"You have improved," the swordmaster said.

"Thanks to my new sword," said the student.

The swordmaster studied the blade and frowned. "This is enchanted?"

"You know about cursed swords that whisper that you should kill?"

"Yes?"

"This tells me I'm loved and valid."

"Ah. Well. It's not wrong."

717: Better DX for Web Components, What Was Popular That Now We’re Used To?

Dave’s changing up his camera angles, Chris has been upgrading his Sprinter van, how many hobbies is too many, what kinds of web tech was popular years ago that now seems normal, why isn&#821…

Yard Project Standup: Fucked up my yard real good with the tiller. Mixed in some good topsoil. Soil is much happier and less compacted. Laying out some unearthed limestone rocks for a cute path to my office. And then a previous owner decided to put in about a foot of river rock around the patio to ensure nothing would ever grow.
Suppressing the urge to slop clone one of those shitty games you see in YouTube ads that seem somewhat mindlessly entertaining but you know are filled with ad tech garbage to unlock coins and gems and crap.
Today i was laid off as part of the restructuring at Webflow. I am looking for my next role in developer relations, developer marketing, sales engineering, and so forth. If you need someone who can speak Developer, hit me up.

Tonight I finished the twelve volume Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga that I started three years ago. 5,304 pages of space battle mech opera.

It follows the storyline of the original TV series and is the source material for the (superior) prequel series. The manga is well paced whereas the original series fell into a hurried slapdash monster of the week format, but with robots.

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko is a master at his craft and breathes new life into this aging piece of modern folklore.

Last call for the early access discount on the AI & Design Systems course. $500 instead of $995. Plus, SHOPTALKSHOWISAWESOME takes another 15% off that.

Here's Brad & Ian on the show hanging out to talk about all this: https://shoptalkshow.com/713/

Found out my library has an integration with Hoopla which has tons of comics and manga to borrow (+ movies, tv, audiobooks, and more). All thru my library card. It's Libby-esque but with a bit more media focus. Comic reading experience is better in-app too.

The library is the gift that keeps on giving, I tell you what. https://www.hoopladigital.com/

On a positive note, I found the dead possum the dogs killed.
