Built a #flutter app for #RetroAchievements users! Going to do a bit more testing then build GitHub repo that's #FDroid and #Obtainium compatible
Okay folks, I think tomorrow I'm going to backup all the important data on my phone and install a non-Google based Android ROM (hopefully something truly AOSP) on my Pixel 9 Pro XL. But... I still need to access some of the Google libraries for work related things. I used to be so good with this stuff, but work profiles... Can I some how just run the Google needed libraries there for those apps and leave the Personal profile completely open source? I guess I'm talking about things like bank apps, Outlook for Enterprise, and my co-parenting app. Don't really need Google for any of the normal things I use other than those. #android #aosp #help
@GrimDeck Separates the goblins for the elves so to speak for those that can master that build
@GrimDeck I'd say $125. Only because there may be one of "those" cards that you really have to have, but could bump you over the $100. Now, I wouldn't call any of that budget. I'd say $50 at most. Keep it close to a precon.
@Kurt I'm guessing so. That's the only way they could do it across different firmware versions of Android since manufacturers are notoriously terrible at keeping the OS up to date.
@jacobscharmberg @postmarketOS Can't wait for a true Linux OS on the phone. I'd rather have that any day of the week. And thanks for letting me know about postmarketOS! Had no idea it was a thing!
@jacobscharmberg That's my concern as well. I know there's a bunch of emulator devices out there for some of the ecosystem on Github, but then again, as you suggested a lot of the devs are going to have to make a hard decision. I hate greed disguised as being "helpful". Freedom of choice is the entire reason that Android is where it is today. Sad times ahead. Thanks for the reply!
#Question for the #Android crowd: I know that Google is removing the ability to sideload come September on the Google version of Android. If one were to place #LineageOS or similar on their device, I'm certain the sideload thing wont be a problem. However, getting apps from say Aurora Store, will there be any issues since they will require signing? I'm sure I'll need microG services, so I'm confused if that will end up causing some sort of issue with the required signing or not. I used to be able to work through these things, but my meds have me all messed up nowadays. Thanks in advance!

@SlntDsl25 I was honestly wondering why it was so quiet. This makes the most sense 🫣
