@atpfm I just helped a friend go through a desk with all her old iPhones in it. She let me take them.

* 3GS
* 4S
* 6S
* 11 (?)
* plus some of her deceased husband’s old iPods.

I’ve noticed this before when I’ve picked up my original iPhone: Man, those old iPhones felt so-oooo good in the hand.

If you have access to a pre-6 iPhone, try it. Those thing felt so good.

And, no, foldable phones don’t solve this problem. It’s not about the size in my pocket. It’s about the size in my hand.

@caseyliss Avis has given me a jeep wrangler for the weekend.

I so do not want this thing, even if it weren’t a cold and rainy weekend in Portland.

I blame you. You’re getting revenge on me.

@gedeonm tapestry is failing to load about half my links to Bluesky. It gets stuck on loading screen every other time. It’s dismiss and go back and it loads fine.

@atpfm @siracusa @marcoarment @caseyliss I’ve longed wondered how much of apple mouse complaints are about hand size.

I’ve used all of these and have XL hands. The only ones I’ve had issues with are hockey puck and magic—which clearly are better for smaller hands.

I loved my PB145b trackball, and have been a trackpad person for over 20 years—including Magic Trackpad. But the other apple mice have all seemed fine to me.

@atpfm

1) Why isn't the web competition for apps created with Apple-provided tools? Seems like competition to me. The Kindle Reader and your own membership program shows it is viable.

(Yes, using Apple-provided tools has advantages. That's why Apple wants to be paid.)

2) Isn't the way that competition and market forces work that if people don't like what you offer, they stop doing business with you? Why did @sircacusa suggest otherwise?

@atpfm saw multiple curbside public charging stations in Montreal this weekend.

Also a lot of Polestar 2s, which I’ve never seen before.

@caseyliss There is NOTHING wrong with looking at proof of your achievements and feeling good about it. Marco has his Facture-printed app icons up in his office. I have my doctoral degree up. Restaurants might have great reviews framed and posted somewhere—only visible to people who are already there.

Going to look at your editor’s pick logo? That’s perfectly reasonable. Heck, fracture-print that bad boy and put it up in your office. It’s cool and it’s nice to be validated for good work you do.

@overcastfm this podcast is not deleting unlistened to podcasts as they pile up.

NPR’s Up First.

@overcastfm so, this is the screen I need to be on to see seek buttons? This is the preferred screen when listening?

Where’s the share button?

It now takes four taps to get to the clip selection interface from the playlist interface.

That’s not an improvement is discoverability or usability.

Yeah, it’s cleaner. Ive would approve.
