I used the weekend weather of sunshine and no breeze to rig up my little boat to work on repairs and improvements. It looks pretty good even up on land, wouldn't you agree? 😊

I had a nice time today meeting folks and talking boats at the inaugural Northwest Small Boat Festival in Port Ludlow! Looking forward to next year! #SmallBoats #Sailing

How could anyone not love #hamradio? With just a few wires, a cheap USB adapter, and open source software, I was able to receive an image from space of....whatever this is.

Okay, so still stuff to learn and practice. But believe it or not, this is much better than my first attempt an hour ago.

It was a nice afternoon to squeeze in some #sailing after work. Wind died and had to row back to the dock, but the first half hour was great!
I enjoyed riding along on a very different kind of #sailing boat than my usual experience today. I observed some interesting sailing skills and learned real history riding on the Lady Washington (the name of the historical replica ship), but totally nerded out over it being the ship that played the HMS Intercepter in Pirates of the Caribbean!

Spent all of last weekend in a classroom course about maritime navigation at Seattle's Center for Wooden Boats. I learned a TON...but I think more than anything, I gained an appreciation of how easy it must be to get lost at sea, especially before electronics. No wonder they call it "dead reckoning."

Could have used a bit more consistent wind, but it was still nice weather for #sailing today!
Canceled meeting this afternoon meant I had time for #sailing! And the view was great. 😊
Making apple pie with apples from our own tree! Happy Thanksgiving to us! 😊
First day of #SeaGL2023 in the books! Heard some interesting talks and met some nice people. 😊
