The 2 Line trains have different interiors, right? My friends think I am crazy... #Seattle

It continues to be ridiculous when a single-nation sport league declares a "world champion."

Seems especially silly when there are actual sporting world championships happening at the same time.

I used the weekend weather of sunshine and no breeze to rig up my little boat to work on repairs and improvements. It looks pretty good even up on land, wouldn't you agree? 😊

I normally don't post about my day job here, but I want to share an interesting opportunity for new grads in software engineering. My team at work will be hiring an intern for a year-long program starting in 2026. This is for new or recent graduates of a bachelor's degree. Applications are open NOW through January 12, 2026.

The program is built around mentorship and building experience with an aim to help some of the many students left behind by the increasing job requirements for a decreasing number of entry-level jobs in our industry.

We're a scientific non-profit organization and we love to see job candidates who are passionate about using their software engineering skills to help scientific and medical research, but no prior lab/medicine/bio/neuro/etc experience or education is required.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, reach out to me or see more details and apply here: https://alleninstitute.org/careers/internships/?jobId=596702BA-990A-D918-3EB0-09214C9FF809

Pic from WA DOT showing washout on US 2 a bit west of Leavenworth WA. This is one of the highways that goes across the Cascade Mountains. Obviously the road is closed and will be for some time. #PNW
