I'm asking on behalf of my mom, who is currently going through hell at her job due to racism. The lovely, subtle type where they "manage you out" while they pretend to be reasonable.
Since we moved to the Pacific NW, it's been the same thing over and over again. It's tiring, and I want to fight back.

Like you, I've been absorbing the news today. As I write this, it looks more and more possible that the American experiment will end in January.
I'll be back tomorrow, but right now I just want to wait and see.
PS: To all the journalists who barely deigned to notice the likelihood that the next president would be an outright fascist – and did nothing to stop him – you have my contempt.

Charlie StrossFinal note: I'm not American, I don't get to vote on Tuesday. But I get to live in the world the US election will create. As the hegemonic superpower of the day, everybody is going to be affected by this. Hence my concerns about someone else's political crisis.

You can vote for Kamala Harris and nobody has to know that you are secretly a decent person that cares about democracy, women's rights, opposing racism and antisemitism, and generally just having a non-deranged person running the country. You can privately do the right thing and publicly let your beer buddies think you are still a total douchebag.
