Wood Street residents held a block party today at the Commons 2.0, near the new city-run cabin site. They had vendors, live music, free food and clothing donations. Good to see lots of joy all around. 😇❤️

The Vallejo SunThe Vallejo City Council voted unanimously to name a street in honor of Earl Stevens — better known by his stage name as E-40 — the renowned hip-hop artist and entrepreneur who grew up in Vallejo. 'E-40 Way' will run for nearly a mile of Magazine Street.

Most displaced Wood Street residents were moved up the block to the city-run cabin site. The community has tried to maintain ties by keeping a canopy and gathering place near 24th & Wood, just outside the city site.

The culture of the police is not neutral - nor is it representative of the communities it polices over - it is awash in far-Right conspiracy theories, talking points, and reactionary, racist politics.
Fire broke out and destroyed one RV at the city sanctioned, so-called "safe" RV site on Wood Street and Wesr Grand today. No one was injured and the fire was put out relatively quickly.
This is the progress so far at the new city sanctioned cabin site on the north end of Wood Street. They have about 10 cabins up and eviction starts on the 17th. Operation Dignity workers out today told me they don't know how many beds are open city-wide rn.
The official eviction of The Wood Street Commons has been postponed by a week. Workers from Operation Dignity just posted these notices saying a deep cleaning is happening instead. But this notice says that people will still need to "temporarily vacate" & "remove all belongings".
