Privacy is non negotiable

🚨 Less than 168 days remain before Android becomes a locked down platform!

Google intends to force all software developers to register with a centralized Google service before their apps can run on the biggest mobile operating system on the planet, regardless of whether those apps are distributed via Google Play.

Find @keepandroidopen’s website at https://keepandroidopen.org for more information about this, why it’s a problem, and how you can make your voice heard.

As supporters of open platforms we have consistently encouraged developers and alternative app stores to refuse to participate in this program, and to spread this message throughout the Android community.

@itsfoss fedora linux user bro
@homator @itsfoss yes indeed
@itsfoss its zero cost max transparency and freedom is the main reason I use linux I use feodra in my lenovo ideapad slim 3 laptop I am using it for over a year now no issues I faced with my college and personal needs I use librewolf and libreoffice mostly and joplin for notes my entire laptop is full of foss softwares I love them so much just thinking about linux makes me feel alive
@itsfoss among these foss gecko engine browsers how many of them are available for stock android mobile
@fromthesocks @ishowcybersecurity no references needed just watch what future awaits for the open source non chromium browsers community
@fromthesocks @ishowcybersecurity yes I completely agree even tough brave is considered good for privacy its still chromium and when google suddenly adds any restrictions to how others should use chromium I think in that scenario Mozilla Firefox will become the symbol of hope to freedom and soar in market share like a eagle soaring to the sky I have learnt that they are applying some restrictions to android so the days are also numbered for chromium too when time arrives googletakeschromium away
@nixCraft I think google at least intearms of free users tier they have almost every app you need as an ordinary office worker but they are spywares in disguise and they are improving gemini and other ai they are a formidable contender in ai,browser market,mobile os market, free software market they are like everywhere its like you are given physical freedom but digitally an entitiy is watching everything from your browsing history keyboard login credentials banking details in gpay so google win
@fromthesocks @ishowcybersecurity I also had this confusion for some time just one question made me doubt brave is that its not 100 percent open source some of its code is hidden and when a browser is focused on privacy but hides a part of code that could cause some people uncomfortable please tell others who are like me that brave is not 100 percent open source yeah chromium is open source but what about other code ?
