@fromthesocks @ishowcybersecurity I also had this confusion for some time just one question made me doubt brave is that its not 100 percent open source some of its code is hidden and when a browser is focused on privacy but hides a part of code that could cause some people uncomfortable please tell others who are like me that brave is not 100 percent open source yeah chromium is open source but what about other code ?
@carbon5327 @ishowcybersecurity I did not know it had closed source, but I also don't favor the business model + I am still grateful for what Mozilla has done for the web including managing CAs. They haven't been good at communication lately but the smart folks can't do it all. I suspect PR was made by green horns and lawyers when it came to tracking via Google.
@fromthesocks @ishowcybersecurity yes I completely agree even tough brave is considered good for privacy its still chromium and when google suddenly adds any restrictions to how others should use chromium I think in that scenario Mozilla Firefox will become the symbol of hope to freedom and soar in market share like a eagle soaring to the sky I have learnt that they are applying some restrictions to android so the days are also numbered for chromium too when time arrives googletakeschromium away
@carbon5327 @ishowcybersecurity hmm, it's open source after all but Google contributions are vital and do not all end up in chromium, right? Sorry, no references at hand...
@fromthesocks @ishowcybersecurity no references needed just watch what future awaits for the open source non chromium browsers community
