@harris

Users have the ability to block servers themselves if they don't want to integrate with Threads or any other server on the Fediverse.

The authoritarian "we know what's best for you and dissenting opinions won't be tolerated" attitude that so many instances have is harmful to Mastodon as a whole and a turn off for a lot of people because it just ends up creating a lot of fiefdoms that are echo chambers.

@Aviva_Gary @ChemicalEyeGuy @JohnMFlores @georgetakei Supreme Court Republicans of the United States.
@ThomasKnight Elon needs to go to prison. Perhaps he can be Trump's cellmate.

@DMH19 @Mastodon
Welcome to Mastodon.

Hashtags are super important and the way you get exposure. For various reasons (performance and the tendency to use text search to dogpile), there is no general fediverse wide text search so without Hashtags, no one can find your toots.

You can also subscribe/follow Hashtags in your feed which can be useful for getting a feed of content you want to see.

@kf7ccc Sounds like it could be an issue with key mapping; perhaps something is changing or setting your keyboard layout upon login and it no longer matches up with whatever the VNC client is set for.
@redgypsee They had to stop all new account creation despite having access to Jack Dorsey as a sugar daddy and having less users than Mastodon.social. I guess money can't buy competence.
@toastware Quality over quantity any time.

@argentini The limit is also per IP/account combination. Using a VPN resets the limit everytime you change your IP.

It's not going do anything to stop scrapers (not that it was anything more than a lame cover story to hide his incompetence at the fact that he broke something). The prices of the API are so outrageously high that it's cheaper to buy 100 blue accounts and then use scrapers with rotating IPs then it is to pay his API fees.

Stop coming onto Mastodon for the sole purpose of asking for #bluesky invites. It's incredibly disrespectful to the people who've worked on Mastodon. This also applies to people who've had 0 acitivity for months but suddenly return seeking an invite.

If you haven't learned your lesson after the Twitter fiasco and want to be abused a second time by techbro billionaire Jack Dorsey, that's your prerogative but you should ask them for an invite code because you won't find any here.

To each their own but leaving one social media site owned by a billionaire tech bro with a laissez faire attitude toward harassment and moderation for another one doesn't really seem like a great idea. #bluesky #twitter
