Is there an expert on #linux #ubuntu (22.04 Gnome with remote desktop and legacy) #VNC or maybe #XWindow who can tell me why I can't type shifted characters after I log in on VNC? Weirdly I can type shifted characters in the screensaver, but not on the command line or GEdit after login.

@kf7ccc not many #microsoft products are superior to the #linux alternative but you don't have these issues with RDP which is vastly superior to VNC

@badrs sadly the #Android #RDP client from Microsoft doesn't want to display my screen. The Windows 10 RDP client works well and is what I'm using for my Windows laptop.

@kf7ccc Sounds like it could be an issue with key mapping; perhaps something is changing or setting your keyboard layout upon login and it no longer matches up with whatever the VNC client is set for.
