Husband. Father. Storyteller. Nerd.

Gaming with my kids, garage #furnituremaker, navigating #ADHD diagnosis mid-30s, curious about the intersection of #mentalhealth and faith (and podcasting as such). Unashamed dog dad to Scout.

Dreams of trudging through the bush, big lens in tow sadly crushed by non-stop work day without breaks to meet deadline.

Throw a crushing headache on top of the end of the work day, and it's not gone to plan at all today

A trudge through the bush with the big lens is in order tomorrow, methinks. Find some wildlife or birds
She's not the only one who appreciates the crowds going home after Easter weekend, and we're still camping

Bogan neighbours have *the most* piercingly nasal voices that we can hear every single word the minute we try to have the door open out the back.

Which would be amazing with this breeze coming through Melb right now.

Worst part is they're a *very big* house next to our small unit, meaning front or back windows/doors open, doesn't matter.

Every. Single. Word.

Most of the photos from the Gemini and Apollo missions have never been seen by the public. This book corrects that.

Had a bit of a lightbulb moment, that maybe the overstimulation I get at times is perhaps an ADHD thing. Lo and behold, yes it is.

Makes so much sense now. I'm not hypersensitive to things, but when I've been dealing with lots of stimulation for a long time (especially competing stimulation), my brain reaches its threshold of trying to focus on all of them, or one of them and ignoring the rest (doesn't really work too well off-meds), and then gets overwhelmed and shutdown.

What does this mean? Maybe trying to be more proactive in identifying times where I'm going to be over-stimulated, and see if I can try and reduce/manage some of that so I can bear it for longer. Prob introduce more stimulation breaks too, would be helpful.

Anyone got any other ideas?
