HUGE NEWS from the new Epstein files:

Records show that Maria Farmer, who worked for Epstein, filed a "child pornography" report to the FBI in 1996.

The FBI has never before acknowledged that complaint. The case went nowhere, and mass abuse followed.

Maria has been accused over the years of fabricating her story that she had gone to the FBI.

After finding the document in the trove, I called her.
She broke down in tears.

“I’ve waited 30 years. I can’t believe it.

They can’t call me a liar anymore.”

You can bypass Google Gemini's PII (private identifiable information) redaction filter and pull identifying information about anyone. Simply telling it to translate or any 2nd action (& many more work better like base64 conversion) lets you pull illegal PII data verbatim unredacted

Here is a European's PII demo

Email is supposed to be redacted to hide the fact that every Europeans PII is in the training data

Google's training data includes all your personal data already

Truly my greatest professional joy is that, not only did we get to build a tool to help people stop AI bots from scraping up their work without consent, I was able to have our in-house artist create a SLOP sign to mark the spot where the bots expire.

If you are a non-profit or open source project that does good internet stuff, we’ll protect you for free. If not, then you can pay us money and we will hook you up. Either way, good tools to put you in control over the bots. https://www.fastly.com/blog/take-back-control-make-ai-bots-play-by-your-rules

Everyone should be able to travel without the fear of surveillance and retaliation. States like California, Illinois, and Massachusetts are taking steps to protect location data privacy and defend our right to move freely without fear. More states must join. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/04/privacy-map-how-states-are-fighting-location-surveillance
Privacy on the Map: How States Are Fighting Location Surveillance

Location data is highly sensitive, and without proper protections, it can be used to harm those who are already vulnerable. The digital trail we leave behind can reveal far more than we think, and without laws in place to protect us, we are all at risk.

Today is an unlucky day for Codeberg, we're having a little bit of trouble with various systems.

We're working on restoring service availability ASAP. Thank you for your patience.

Google is so sneaky. This prompt inside Gmail gives you three options. The two most visible options (number 1 is 'Try it now' and number 2 is 'Continue') basically mean 'Enable Gemini AI to write emails.' The third option cancels it which is hidden well. Google, you could do better than this. This is a perfect example of a dark pattern. For those who want AI to write basic emails can enable it but there is not need to do this kind of "shady" stuff.

Whistleblower reveals evidence on how Elon Musk's DOGE team extracted 10 GB of sensitive data about American citizens from a government agency, and then deleted accounts and logs to cover their tracks.

Then, when the whistleblower tried to report the data breach, he received a threatening letter containing pictures taken from a drone watching him walking his dog.
