Retired educator. Very concerned about threats to democracy, human rights, and life on our planet. Grandfather.
@fifilamoura @hannu_ikonen @fergabell @Resister A big part of the challenge facing humanity today, is our unrelenting desire to avoid seeing reality. The practice you describe is ideal if you have lost all hope that we can meet the struggles ahead of us with courage, clear-thinking, and committed perseverance.
@juddlegum Elon Musk loves to project.
@breadandcircuses Calvin represents the oil and gas industry in Alberta today. Unfortunately, his mother is our Premier Danielle Smith. She does not respond like Calvin's mother by putting him in a corner; instead, she responds with wheelbarrows of money. Also unfortunate, we have too few Suzies in Alberta and Calvins are considered brilliant business people.
@postfilm Agreed!
@PBruce Unfortunately the case you are referring to is not related to the linked article.
@postfilm I live in Edmonton, Alberta and we use the word "don" when we are putting on our gay apparel. My grandmother used to use the words "dassent", "addled" and "think on (it)". Aside from that, the word "middlin'" is occasionally used. Otherwise we appreciate seeing the words used in British drama or comedy shows.
The world's fate today is being determined by people who grew up on a different planet.

It's great that RFF has launched the Carbon Scoring Project - it would be *much* better, however, if RFF didn't accept funding from the fossil-fuel industry. (Note: This particular initiative is funded by climate hawks John Mulliken and Ed Smith)
